Please join us in person to celebrate Lynn Skolnick being honored by the Library Trustee Association (LTA) Section of the New York Library Association (NYLA) as a 2023 Velma K. Moore award recipient.
The Velma K. Moore Award is one that LTA has given to a volunteer person or organization who has made exemplary contributions to library services. The award, given since 1962, was established by her family in memory of Mrs. Moore, the wife of NYS Lt. Governor Frank C. Moore. She worked actively for the improvement of library services from 1947 until her death in 1961. She was a founding member of the New York State Association of Library Boards (the precursor to LTAS), its President for two terms, and a trustee of the Kenmore Public Library near Buffalo for thirty-three years.
This is the 61st year that this award is being given and Lynn is one of two recipients in NYS for 2023. Please join us at this celebration of Lynn's dedication to the library and the Ramapo Catskill Library System.
Refreshments will be served.
