LIBRARY ASSISTANT-Administrator (Full-Time) at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library

The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library in Monticello, New York is seeking a tech savvy, detail-orientated, and motivated person for a full-time Library Assistant position. Primary responsibilities include: Scheduling, Billing, Compiling Reports, Deposit Reconciliation, and other related work as required. Preferred skills: HR, Excel, time management, budgeting, and website management.  

This position has growth potential and is a great career steppingstone for librarianship.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:

(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of experience working in a library or nonprofit organization; or

(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s Degree plus three (3) years of experience working in a library or nonprofit organization; or

(C) Graduation from high school or possession of a general equivalency diploma and five (5) years of experience working in a library or nonprofit organization.

BENEFITS: The library provides eligible employees health insurance, enrollment in the New York State Retirement System, Vacation and Sick/Personal leave, Paid Family Leave, Aflac, and a Flexible Spending Account.

WORK SCHEDULE: Thirty-eight hours per week including evenings and Saturdays.

SALARY:  Full-time position, pay range: $20-$25/hr

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is subject to Sullivan County Civil Service Rules. Requirements for permanent appointment to this position include satisfactory completion of both a Civil Service examination and a 6 month probationary period.
