Outdoor Stage Event

Come on a journey with Donna and Rick Nestler. This musical program includes songs of trains, train wrecks, hoboes and other railroad related topics. Come learn more about train culture and join in singing! The husband and wife team of Rick and Donna Nestler have been playing together for over twenty years, performing a variety of traditional genres including jug band, blues, country, early jazz, and maritime music, falling under the general heading of Americana Roots music. Both are multi-instrumentalists playing 6 & 12 string guitars, tenor banjo, ukuleles and concertina, among other things. Donna is a classically trained musician who has toured Europe even playing a bassoon solo in Heidelberg Castle.

They have performed at many venues, including Lincoln Center, Bethel Woods, and the Hudson River Sloop Singer Reunion. They both come from families with roots in railroading! Talented musicians, they will have you tapping your toes and singing!

They will be performing live on the library’s outdoor stage. Registration is strongly encouraged (click here to register). Masking and social distancing are strongly recommended.
