While the Catskills Borscht Belt made its name from its renown summer resorts, in the 50’s and 60’s dozens of hotels “winterized” their rooms and added indoor pools, ski hills and toboggan runs so they could stay open all year. Many guests met their future spouses at various hotel beginner ski slopes and on ice skating rinks.
On Thursday, January 28 at 6 pm join a Zoom virtual panel discussion on what it was like to spend winter holidays in the Catskills, where regardless of the weather, guests enjoyed the warm Catskills hospitality and limitless good food. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions or briefly share your own winter in the Catskills experiences.
The panel will include: John Conway, Sullivan County historian, Steve White, who grew up at and was the Tennis Pro at the Concord Hotel and Marvin Rappaport, whose family operated the Delano Hotel.
Registration is full. You can view the event live on our YouTube channel.
