Cecil and Buddy Allen grew up in Alabama in a musical family with church being a large part of their upbringing. The family moved to Monticello in the 1950’s in search of better lives, better jobs, and they brought their musical instruments with them. Their family band, including brother Harrison, played all over the Catskills, including the Concord and Raleigh Hotels. They have also played with many prominent musicians, including Peg Leg Bates and Mickey Barnett. Hear their story with memories of this golden age.
