Enjoy a family friendly program of traditional Balinese and fusion dance featuring the artists of BALAM Dance Theatre (BALAM), a NYC contemporary world dance company inspired by Balinese theatre. Highlighted in this program will be BALAM’s signature work, Ramayana: Abduction of Sita, a story ballet inspired by the Hindu epic. See fantasy characters with deeply curved bodies adorned in golden scrolled costumes and bejeweled headpieces leap, spin, and dart as they dance with flashing eyes and vibrating fingers to portray a mythic tale.
