It’s Time To Upgrade your Router’s Firmware
Chances are you are like most home router owners - you don’t upgrade your router’s firmware. Most users don’t even know that their routers need to be updated with patches like their computers or phones. But a recent article on technology blog ArsTechnica highlights the reason why these updates need to be done regularly.
While the article points out that there are D-Link routers being attacked by the current piece of malware, it’s always a good idea to update no matter what brand of router you have. Depending on how new or how old your router is, there could be no updates available or a handful.
If you don’t know how to update the firmware, bring up your internet browser and go to a Google search window. Type in “how to update your router firmware.” You will see different brands of routers begin to appear, you can always tailor the search to your brand of router or even go directly to the homepage of your router.
