How to Use Contact-Free Curbside Pickup at Ethelbert B Crawford Public Library
Contact-Free Curbside Pickup is now available. Keep reading to learn the steps patrons can take to request items and pick them up.
Step 1: Select Books and Materials
Patrons have two options for selecting items to checkout: placing holds in the online catalog or allowing a librarian to select books based on your needs and preferences.
Patrons who wish to select their own materials may browse the online catalog, locate the desired item(s), and use the Place Request button to place a hold.
Patrons who prefer that a library staff member chooses materials for them should call (845)794-4660. Please provide as much information as possible about your reading preferences.
Step 2: Set an Appointment
If you placed a hold online, library staff will contact you to arrange an appointment.
If you contacted us by phone, we will make an appointment with you then.
Step 3: Pick Up Your Materials
This is a completely contact-free process, so please do not exit your vehicle unless you have to put materials in the drop box. Please be sure to bring your library card and ID with you in case we need to verify any information.
When you arrive at the library, please park in the designated Contact-Free Curbside Pickup parking space (1 or 2) and call the number posted on the sign.
If you are a walk-up patron, a sign is posted on a table alerting you to the number to call to notify us you are here.
Library staff will checkout your materials to your library card account, place your items in a plastic bag and deliver them to you at your designated location.
If you do not have a mobile phone, or if you have limited mobility, please alert our staff.
Step 4: Enjoy Your Materials and Return them Safely
A receipt listing each item checked out and the due date for each item will be attached to your pickup bag.
You may return your items to the book drop at the library. Please be advised that all returned items will be quarantined for up to seven days and may remain on your account. Items in quarantine will not be considered overdue and fines will not be charged during the quarantine period.
