Board of Trustee Meeting Minutes
12/19/19
Members present: Lynn Skolnick, Marcia Raponi, Christine Cavello, Marvin Rappaport, Sari Rosenheck & Connie Keller. Absent: Steve Sharoff
Meeting called to order 4:32 pm
Marcia motioned to approve minutes from November, Marvin seconded, approved unanimously/


Correspondence
2020 Debt Service Bill – Interest credit going forward vs. issuing a refund
` Bullet Aid - $2,000 from Senator Jen Metzger to be used toward programming
Vestibule Repair – DASNY is dragging this out
Voucher Approval - Christine will do on Saturday


Bills to be Paid
Pending Christine’s review Saturday motion to allow Mary Paige to use signature stamp to sign December checks. Connie motioned, Marcia seconded to generate the checks on Friday for Saturday voucher review by Christine and issuance. Motion was approved.


Reports
Programming - January; show the movie Harriet?
February: Heart Wreath, Essential Oils, Afro Futurism (Black Literature)
B&G - Tanks were raised to specified height. Tubes now extend above ground.
Still need door sweep repaired
Discussed Malum invoice for tank raising being in excess of signed NTE agreement. Director encouraged to pursue settlement
Template for a 5-10 year plan re long term maintenance expenses. Call Thrall?
Youth Services - Discussion of existing space
Cheryl continues to wow!
IT - Jonathan doing classes on how to use phone hooked up to Apple TV
Wifi use strong
Discussion of removing ID requirement to use library computers
Friends - Holiday Bake-Off Great crowd 75 people. We think it raised upwards of $700
Directors Report – submitted in writing
Helen Rados –article in Sullivan County Democrat re her recpt. of statewide Friend of the Year award.
Cooper Arias – single bidder for 2019 GAAP audit in 2020. Awarded.
Old Business
Robert Gipson plans to donate $10,000 in 2019 unrestricted
He will revisit donating toward development of the local historic room next year
The Library is a governmental entity and thereby the equivalent of a 501(c) 3
Agreed to let Steve move forward with adopted Investment strategy
Part-Time Sr. Account Clerk/Bookkeeper - Danielle is contacting a qualified person and is sharing post about job online and with RCLS. Civil Service Exam application is due in January; the exam will be given in February


New Business
Budget adjustments discussed
Advocacy Day 2020 February 25th
RCLS Legislative Breakfast 9/25 Location tba
Christine Cavello presented with certificate of appreciation for her years of sevice
$300 from Forestburgh Book Club to be spent on library programming
Motion to adjourn by Marvin, 2nd by Connie. Approved.
